Organization Description

APLA Health's mission is to achieve health care equity and promote well-being for the LGBT and other underserved communities and people living with and affected by HIV.

Program Information

Vance North Necessities of Life Program: Our Food Bank (NOLP) is the country's largest AIDS specific food pantry, providing free food and nutrition education to nearly 1,700 people living with HIV/AIDS. Annually, NOLP distributes more than 117,000 bags of groceries and other necessities. NOLP’s weekend food drive program connects volunteers with the community by having them work together to collect food and hygiene items for people living with HIV/AIDS. Other APLA Health programs include free/low cost dental services, housing and benefits assistance, an array of sexual health educational programs, and medical clinics. Internships vary by program and need.
