Organization Description

La Alianza is a national, intergenerational network that centers system-impacted youth leadership and voice while using research, storytelling, and advocacy to uplift Indigenous/Latinx youth visibility, building movement to replace youth injustice systems with long-term solutions rooted in cultural, Comunidad, and healing.

Program Information

Social Work Intern will co-develop social work position policy statement on social work in the era of ending mass incarceration for youth; coordinate on-going activities for dissemination of an Alianza national report of Latinx youth in the Youth Justice system, with recommendations for policy change at local, state, national level of juvenile justice system, raising awareness and action among a wider audience; assist in developing and presenting at national, state, local conferences; possibly mentor returning citizen/previously Youth Justice System involved in developing a digital story telling project.
