Opportunity Summary 

This will be a veterinary assistant externship. Where the student will get to observe and participate in veterinary procedures on large animals.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this opportunity the student will be familiar with different veterinary diagnosis, procedures, medications, and routes of administration. They will also learn how to handle and restrain animals, as well as assist with minor procedures in the field.

Opportunity Training 

Student will observe and assist a licensed veterinarian and assistant through hands on experience

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Student should follow all written and verbal instructions from the supervising veterinarian. Be aware of your surroundings at all times, and if you don't feel comfortable handling or restraining animals please let us know.
