Community Organizing for Health EquityAt — Long Beach Forward

A core part of our mission is engaging residents in Central and West Long Beach in opportunities to improve health outcomes for themselves and their neighborhoods. To meaningfully engage residents, we use direct outreach methods and community-based organizing to meet people where they are at and get them involved in systemic policy change. Activities will include direct outreach to multicultural communities (door knocking, phone banking, etc.), working collaboratively with ongoing campaigns and partner organizations addressing root causes of health inequities, and supporting the community organizers who work out of our office. Students would participate in outreach, writing, and research activities.
