Cal Poly Pomona’s Center for Community Engagement invites you to participate in Family Volunteer Day, a global day of service that celebrates the impact families can make when they come together to support their communities. It is an opportunity to give back to their neighborhoods and help brighten the holidays for those in need.
This year's event will be on Saturday, November 23, 2024, between 9 AM and 12 PM, at the Community Innovation Hub in Downtown Pomona.
During this food and hygiene supplies drive with community partner Sowing Seeds for Life, we ask that you bring any of the following:
Sowing Seeds for Life (SSFL), a non-profit founded in 2005, aims to eliminate hunger and provide emergency aid, serving over 7,000 people monthly in the Los Angeles and Inland Valley area. As part of Feeding America, SSFL also focuses on building trust to address broader needs like clothing, education, and housing, while regularly distributing food with the help of community donors and volunteers. Items donated during this Family Volunteer Day event will be picked up by SSFL and distributed to senior communities in Pomona. We will also be providing holiday ornaments created by the CPP Student Innovation Idea Labs for participants to decorate and take home. If you donate 5 or more items, you will also receive a Cal Poly Pomona pennant!
