Cal Poly Pomona’s Center for Community Engagement invites you to join a National Day of Service honoring the life and teachings of César Chávez.
This event will be on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, 8 AM – 4 PM, at Moonwater Farm. Transportation will be provided from Cal Poly Pomona's Voorhis Park (next to Parking Structure 1). Due to this, spots are extremely limited. Please only sign up if you are fully committed to participating in this event.
Through this volunteer experience, Broncos will Learn by Doing Good by giving back to our community partner and local micro-farm, Moonwater Farm. It is an urban sanctuary that provides space and education to youth and residents interested in land stewardship, collective community building and healing, art, and social justice. Volunteers will help with wool processing, trenching/digging, composting, planting seeds, weeding, and animal feeding. While most activities require standing, walking, and lifting, there will be alternate activities for those needing accommodations. Join us in serving our community!
Date and Time: Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Moonwater Farm
Transportation: Provided from Voorhis Park at Cal Poly Pomona. Park in Parking Structure 1; daily rate is $8 with pay stations located on floors 2 and 4
Attire: Wear comfortable, modest clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Shoes must be closed toe for safety reasons. Please bring your own reusable water bottle; Moonwater Farm has requested that we not bring single-use plastic.
