Opportunity Summary 

Join our team at Rowland High School and gain hands-on experience in athletic training. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with our certified athletic trainer and support student-athletes in various sports programs. As an intern, you'll assist in injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation under supervision. The role provides valuable exposure to the field of sports medicine and prepares interns for future careers in athletic training or related fields.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

- Hands-on Experience: working with student athletes in various sports, dealing with injuries, and providing treatment under supervision - Injury Assessment and Prevention: Learning how to assess, develop rehab programs, and implement preventive measures to reduce injury. - Emergency Response: Aquire skills in emergency response procedures (CPR, first aid, etc) and managing injuries on the field or court.

Opportunity Training 

Orientation, Introduction to the school, athletic staff and sports. Overview of everyday duties and responsibilities. Students will observe the athletic trainer and help with taping, bracing, and other preventative measures. Learn and participate in emergency action plans, and protocols and contribute to overall safety (daily).
