By the end of this externship, students will have: • Strengthened their technical skills in areas like anesthesia, diagnostics, and patient monitoring • Gained hands-on experience with advanced procedures in emergency and specialty medicine • Learned how to think critically and adapt in high-pressure situations • Built confidence in communicating with both clients and veterinary professionals • Developed a deeper understanding of how a multi-disciplinary team collaborates to deliver high-quality patient care
Student will be paired with a mentor whom they will shadow and assist with performing treatments/ diagnostics on our animal patients
All externs will receive a thorough orientation covering hospital protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Students will be trained on safe animal handling techniques and supervised during any high-risk procedures. We follow strict infection control practices and adhere to OSHA standards throughout the hospital.
