Registered Veterinary TechnicianAt — Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG)

Opportunity Summary

If the student is a fit for VEG and they like our hospital I would start out by hiring them as a per diem. If that went well when we have an open spot I would offer them a full time position.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes

Over the course of this externship, the student will gain hands-on exposure to the fast-paced environment of a 24/7 emergency and critical care hospital. They will develop foundational technical skills including patient restraint and handling, venipuncture observation and assistance, catheter placement support, anesthesia and sedation monitoring, inpatient care, triage support, and emergency workflow fundamentals. The student will also gain experience in client communication, teamwork under pressure, and professional conduct within a high-acuity setting.

Opportunity Training

The students would work side by side with some of our higher level nurses. They would have the potential to assist with advanced nursing techniques and will be able to ask any questions they may have.
