Business Operations InternAt — Boxing for Justice
As an Operations Intern with Boxing for Justice, you’re not just supporting behind-the-scenes work—you’re becoming part of a nonprofit that uses boxing as a tool for social good. In this role, you’ll help keep our programs, events, and community outreach running smoothly while supporting our mission of confidence-building, discipline, and positive development through sport. You’ll gain hands-on experience assisting with onboarding new interns and volunteers, coordinating operations, and supporting organizational planning, and see how strong systems turn purpose into real-world impact. By the end of this opportunity, you’ll have gained hands-on experience supporting nonprofit operations and organizational coordination within a mission-driven organization. You’ll develop skills in onboarding support, event and program coordination, workflow management, and professional communication, and you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how strong operations and systems enable community-focused programs to succeed. In short, you’ll come out not only as a more capable operations professional, but also as someone who understands how effective execution turns purpose into real-world impact.
Students will receive a general orientation and foundational training to familiarize them with their responsibilities. They’ll have access to ongoing support, periodic check-ins, and opportunities to develop the skills needed for the activities they've been assigned. This approach ensures that students can successfully perform their tasks while also allowing for some flexibility in how training is delivered.
Boxing for Justice prioritizes the safety and well-being of all participants, including interns, clients, and community members. Interns are not responsible for the direct supervision of minors and do not provide medical, counseling, therapeutic, or clinical services. Any on-site or event-related activities occur under staff supervision and follow established organizational safety guidelines and procedures. Photography or videography, if applicable, is limited to approved settings and conducted in accordance with organizational policies and permissions. No additional safety risks beyond those typical of community programs, nonprofit operations, or event-based environments are anticipated
Interested students should submit a resume for review. Selected applicants will be invited to a brief phone screening, followed by an in-person or Zoom interview if advanced in the selection process. Interviews will focus on availability, interests, and alignment with the role and learning objectives. Prior nonprofit or operations experience is not required; this opportunity is well suited for organized, reliable, and self-motivated students interested in gaining hands-on experience in a mission-driven environment.
