Sexual Assault CounselorAt — Project Sister Family Services

Opportunity Summary 

Sexual Assault Counselors provide immediate crisis support to survivors of sexual violence and child abuse. The role of the counselor is to provide emotional support, resources and follow up services to hotline callers. The counselors will either support via 24/7 crisis hotlines or support in person during law enforcement interviews, forensic medical exams, court proceedings and restraining orders.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

How to best support survivors of sexual assault after the trauma they have experienced. The students will become well versed in referrals and appropriate resources to provide survivors. Students will become very familiar in the criminal justice process that a survivor goes through.
