Here at Kanan Veterinary, we take pride in providing a place for future techs and vets to gain real life skills experience to help round out their educational goals, and be better prepared for a successful career in the Veterinary field.
Students can expect to learn all about what it takes to work in a practice. Students will be involved in all aspects of our day, from client interactions, assisting in treatment with the animals, and even a front row seat to many interesting surgical procedures. Some of the skills you were learn are, and not limited to: Veinpuncture, proper animal restraint, aseptic technique for surgical procedures, learning about radiographs, both of the body and of the oral cavity. Client relations are a big part of your role in a veterinary practice and you will have ample time to learn about client education, husbandry and all other skills needed to be successful.
The students will be paired with a technician that will walk them through each task, protocol etc. to ensure they receive support and a thorough education each shift.
We ask that you dress in scrubs, wear proper closed toe shoes and come with a good attitude, ready to learn.
