The Day of Service is intended to empower individuals, strengthen communities, bridge barriers, create solutions to social problems, and move us closer to a community vision. This year CSUCI will honor that vision on Friday, February 16, 2024, by serving at Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship.

Here is what you need to know to be prepared for the day.

START TIME: Meet fellow CSUCI students at the Peace Pole (located in Central Mall across from Sierra Hall) no later than 8:30 am. We will return to CSUCI by 1 pm. Eat a good breakfast and do not forget to bring your lunch!

ORGANIZATION INFORMATION: Ride On’s mission is to promote the welfare of at-risk youth and people with any physical, intellectual, or cognitive disability using equine-assisted activities and therapies; and by providing instruction and education for all in equestrian-related social, vocational, and recreational activities.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Provide organization and cleaning efforts for the barn, horse stables, and grounds

The event is made possible by funding from Instructionally Related Activities and is sponsored by the Center for Community Engagement, Inclusive Student Services, and the Veterans Affairs Program.

CI does not discriminate in the educational programs or activities it conducts on the basis of race, ethnicity, color, nationality, gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, marital status, religion, mental or physical disability, genetic information, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy, medical condition, or special disabled veteran status, Vietnam-era veteran status or other covered veteran status.
