Hope Walk/Celebration of Hope Development OpportunityAt — Cancer Support Community - Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara
The development department can use help related largely to the logistics of upcoming major events such as the Hope Walk and Celebration of Hope event. The virtual Hope Walk Week is a community walk to raise awareness. Participants are encouraged to form teams, and walk anywhere and anytime from May 16-23, wear Hope Walk shirts, and share pictures on social media. Celebration of Hope is a 60-minute virtual program featuring exclusive performances, music, and an online auction. This is scheduled for September 23, 2021. •Oversee the platform (Give Smart) design and updates including auction items, corrections, sponsor information, etc. •Gather sponsor data and information including any logos, videos, etc. •Coordinate all marketing activities related to the events. Creation of marketing items would be a plus if possible! •Coordinate event rehearsals, set up pieces of training or meetings for the events (as required). •Assist with other event duties as needed.
The importance of planning, a timeline and communication both external and internal to accomplish event goals. The importance of both verbal and written communication to convey event requirements. Students will also learn critical research skills to uncover new avenues of publicizing major events.
Student will be trained by staff on office systems and the process of the essay contest.
