Opportunity Summary

Canine Adoption and Rescue League’s mission is to advocate for animal welfare, seeking to end the needless deaths of companion animals through our adoption, education, and outreach programs. Typically students assist in fulfilling the mission through walking dogs, promoting specific animals or adoption/fundraising events. Students can also help at the CARL Boutique Thrift Store, write grants or help improve facilities, such as gardening or painting.

Opportunity Training 

All students must undergo an initial volunteer training. Then depending on their interest/project goals, will undergo additional training, such as dog handler training.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Working with animals poses risks, however, students who are not comfortable or are unable to work with dogs can perform other duties.
