Service-Learning OpportunitiesAt — Ventura Land Trust
Service-learners can help with invasive plant removal, monitoring, trail construction, and maintenance.
Past service-learners have been interested in environmental advocacy, non-profit administration, sociology, and education.
Ventura Land Trust is also interested in working directly with faculty from varied disciplines to build service-learning projects that support course outcomes.
Students will learn about native and non-native species and how their presence impacts our environment, about the challenges that exist in our local watersheds, and how we effectively manage environmental issues while communicating with the general public.
Students will also learn about the mission, services, and population this organization serves and the issues that impact this population.
Training will be provided for all stewardship activities. Students who are interested in creating content are expected to be familiar with posting to social media channels.
Students should have appropriate clothing for working in the field: long-sleeved shirts, long pants, sturdy boots, hat, sun protection. Always bring water to work site.
