Service-Learning OpportunitiesAt — University Preparation Charter School at CSU Channel Islands
1) Tutoring in an after-school program or during the regular instructional day.
2) Mentoring in the Family Resource Center.
3) Students can work with families and children to provide assistance with family literacy activities, parenting classes, language classes in English and Spanish.
4) Students needed to also provide outreach to the local community.
5) Student service-learners needed from diverse subjects including Spanish, math, and science.
UPCS is also interested in working directly with faculty from varied disciplines to build service-learning projects that support course outcomes.
Students will learn about the mission, services, and population this organization serves and the issues that impact this population.
A UPCS staff member will train and supervise students.
