Opportunity Summary 

Located in South Oxnard, Ocean View School District ensures that all students, pre-school through 8th grade, achieve academic success and are prepared to live and learn in a rapidly changing world. OVSD provides rigorous and relevant learning experiences while empowering families and staff to work together!

Laguna Vista Elementary is interested in working directly with faculty from varied disciplines to build service-learning projects that support course outcomes.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

With a service-learning opportunity through CSUCI, students will learn about the planning and preparation for classroom instruction, enrichment programs or school events. Through their work with an OVSD staff member, CSUCI students will have an opportunity to engage and support children and youth as they progress toward the achievement of their academic and personal goals.

Students will also learn about the mission, services, and population this organization serves and the issues that impact this population.

Opportunity Training 

Guidance will be provided in accordance with the specific project or activity.
