Opportunity Summary 

To support Ventura County Medical Center by assisting with the operation and upkeep of the Ronald McDonald Family and Quiet Rooms, providing a welcoming space where families and visitors of patients on Floor 2 can rest, recharge, and find comfort while remaining close to their loved ones.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will have learned communication skills with hospital staff, VRMFR staff, families, and patients, how our program supports all populations at Ventura County's only pediatric hospital, and the impact of our nonprofit to the Ventura County community.

Opportunity Training 

Students will attend an orientation, training sessions, and shadowing our volunteers.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students will need to be comfortable walking distances around the hospital and be able to carry 20 pounds or less.
