Opportunity Summary 

Students will help with providing and participating in meaningful activities with individuals with brain injury to help them in their long-term recovery process. The position involves assisting people with brain injuries with various activities such as arts and crafts, board games, physical exercise and activity, gardening, cognitive activities, socializing, etc.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

how to communicate and interact with adults with traumatic brain injuries; how to supervise and participate in cognitive, physical, and/or recreational activities with brain injury survivors

Opportunity Training 

orientation and training will include information about the clients and their needs as well as their likes/dislikes; there is also online training available

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

BIC will provide training on how to interact with clients to lessen the risk of behaviors such as yelling, cursing, etc. occurring.
