Opportunity Summary 

Assist in writing grant proposals that directly fund our programs, then apply that same content-development skill across fundraising, marketing content materials, and events. Ideal opportunity for a student who wants persuasive writing and communications experience with visible, high-stakes impact.

Priorities:

1. Grant writing and content development (e.g. policy documents, tutorials, web content)

2. Fundraising support (e.g. grant research, donor outreach, collection drives)

3. Digital content creation, editing and marketing (images, video, web)

4. Event, program, or project planning and leadership

5. General office administration and data analysis

6. Shadowing a professional and/or client

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

1) Craft compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate organizational needs, program impact, and value to funders, resulting in direct financial support for mission-driven programs.

2) Apply persuasive writing and storytelling techniques across multiple formats, including grant narratives, fundraising appeals, marketing collateral, impact reports, and event promotions.

3) Conduct targeted research on funding opportunities and prospective donors to inform evidence-based, data-driven content development.

4) Develop and refine professional content-development skills, including outlining, drafting, editing, and incorporating feedback to produce polished, publication-ready materials.

5) Translate program outcomes and impact metrics into clear, emotionally resonant narratives that strengthen fundraising and marketing efforts.

6) Contribute to high-stakes deliverables with measurable organizational impact, such as funded programs, successful events, or increased donor engagement.

7) Build a professional portfolio of persuasive writing samples that demonstrate real-world application and tangible results.
