Each year for the past 29 years, United Way of Ventura County’s Day of Caring (DOC) has connected hundreds of volunteers to community organizations throughout Ventura County. By engaging people in volunteerism, UWVC works to create positive change in our community. In 2018, over 550 individuals, families, and teams volunteered at 29 project sites.

Bring your CSUCI spirit on Saturday, September 28th for 30th anniversary of United Way’s Day of Service. this year we will be serving at the Boys and Girls Club of Camarillo.

Here is what you need to know to be prepared for the day.

START TIME: Meet the Roadrunner Shuttle and fellow CSUCI students at the Peace Pole (located in Central Mall across from Sierra Hall) no later than 8:30AM. We will return to CSUCI by 1:30pm. Eat a good breakfast and bring your lunch.

ORGANIZATION INFORMATION: The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Our goal is to provide every child with the essential tools needed for a successful and bright future.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This event brings together CSUCI students, staff and faculty to serve on a community project. This year, we will be working on a cleaning and painting projects to spruce up the Boys and Girls Club of Camarillo in preparation for the new school year!         

The event is made possible by funding from Instructionally Related Activities and is sponsored by the Center for Community Engagement, Inclusive Student Services & the Multicultural Dream Center and Veterans Affairs Program.
