CCE Data Fellows Research ProjectAt — CSULB Center for Community Engagement

Under the direction of members of the CCE Data Fellows Team (Claudia Lopez, Juan Benitez, and Carina Sass), the Data Fellows Summer Research Assistant will work directly with qualitative data obtained through the initial interviews done by SOC 354 students in Spring 2021 to help organize and analyze the data as part of the piloting of a student experience interview tool. This will include:

• Organizing data (transcriptions and audio)
• Data entry (creating a spreadsheet to be used for data analysis)
• Coding data (using Deduce or NVivo to code transcripts)
• Thematic analysis (identifying themes, begin to select quotes that are particularly relevant to themes)
• Reporting (assist in creating a report/presentation of findings)
• Preparation (assist in preparing for data collection for the upcoming academic year)
