Volunteer - Healthy Brain InitiativeAt — Connected to Lead

Opportunity Summary 

Connected to Lead is seeking volunteers who are interested in gaining first-hand experience with leadership development, community engagement, and nonprofit work. Healthy Brain Initiative Volunteers will assist staff with administration, programming, and more. Key responsibilities include presenting and developing the community, developing outreach materials, supporting programming, social media content creation, and attending meetings and trainings. The Healthy Brain Initiative is in partnership with Alzheimer's Los Angeles and will primarily consist of weekly workshops for community members in both English and Spanish. This volunteer position will be virtual due to COVID-19, with possible in-person activities, to be determined when applicable. Volunteers are responsible for their own internet access and computer.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

1. Students will learn how to coordinate virtual workshops and events for communities of color 2. Students will learn creative ways to engage their audience using social media 3. Students will coordinate presentations educating communities of color on the importance of healthy brain activity

Opportunity Training 

Training will include coordinating virtual events and service projects, digital content creation, engaging communities of color, etc.
