Bolsa Chica ConservancyAt — Bolsa Chica Conservancy
The Bolsa Chica wetlands are a unique ecosystem and a vital part of the Pacific Flyway for birds as well as home to many endangered and threatened species of plants and animals. The Bolsa Chica Conservancy is dedicated to protecting this important ecosystem through leadership in science-based education, restoration, and limited animal husbandry. Interning is a great way to learn new skills and gain experience in a field you are pursuing. The Conservancy's internships are currently unpaid but exceptional interns will be offered letters of recommendation upon completion of the hour commitment.
Skills valuable to their degree program and career goals, which will be scaled based on their personal goals. Cross-training will also be included as part of the internship, increasing the intern's skillset, and connections with important agencies (OC Parks, State Parks, etc.) will also be established, depending on which department the intern is working under.
All interns will receive proper training from staff upon beginning their internship, and will be entirely supervised until the intern feels comfortable working on their own.
Restoration interns must be comfortable working with and around power tools and herbicides. Animal care interns must be comfortable with live animal feedings.
