Opportunity Summary 

Here at Willow Springs, you will be working in a true hidden gem of Long Beach. At this natural habitat restoration site, you will be working in close proximity with CA native plants, local wildlife species, and community members that advocate for ecological sustainability. All while outdoors! Bring your hiking boots, water, sunscreen and hat - see you out here!

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

CA native plant species & identification, local wildlife recognition, urban greening practices, urban, water conservation methods, a general understanding of the components of an ecological system, Long Beach's history of oil production and the latest efforts of Long Beach's sustainability efforts.

Opportunity Training 

Tool use, plant ID, plant care, etc.

You will be working outdoors so always be prepared with adequate outdoor footwear, sun protection (sunscreen, hats, sun clothes, etc.), water, snacks.
