Corporate Giving Program Research InternAt — Long Beach Public Library Foundation

Opportunity Summary 

The Corporate Giving Program Research Intern will assist the fundraising director with developing a compendium of local corporations, particularly those who might have an interest in enriching programs for a future workforce in STEAM fields, by researching corporation websites and news articles to find local corporate leaders that the Foundation can reach out to to support Library programs. He will assist with the preparation of tours for Library Foundation guests and participate in weekly check-in meetings with the Library Foundation team.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

The Corporate Giving Research Intern will learn the basics of nonprofit development and develop the skills necessary to identify grant and corporate giving opportunities that will result in increased funding.

Opportunity Training 

Student will be given a tour of the Library with an overview of each of the Library programs funded by the Foundation. He will be given instruction on the project, including how to identify a potential corporate funder and an appropriate contact at each organization with whom the Foundation can engage, and learn how to match the interests of a funder with the needs of the programs being supported.
