Opportunity Summary 

Come learn about how the City of Long Beach prepares for public health emergencies. Additionally, we will show other parts of the health department as well such as environmental health and the laboratory since we work closely with all the programs at the Health Department.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

STudents will learn about the Public Health Emergency Management Division at the Long Beach Health Department and how they prepare the city for any public health emergencies. Get to see what the day-to-day experience is at a local city health department.

Opportunity Training 

Training will be on the job. The supervisor will provide guidance as needed. All intern will need to take HIPAA and Incident Command System trainings as well.
