Opportunity Summary 

Students will learn aspects of urban farming/gardening. From Seed to Harvest to table. How to prepare garden beds for planting. How to plant seeds and transplants. How to identify various vegetables, fruits and flowers. Harvesting for restaurants. Hydroponic growing and farm animal husbandry.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

How to build a garden and maintain it. Natural pest management. Organic growing techniques. Working with hydroponic systems.

Opportunity Training 

Step by step instructions by site manager and Certified Master Gardener and Chef

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Working out of doors with plants and farm animals, such as chickens, goats, and dog.
