ES&P Social Media TeamAt — CSULB Center for Community Engagement
The ES&P Social Media Team is a 45-hour service learning commitment that will provide social media support and outreach for the Environmental Science & Policy program. The Social Media Team will help to document ongoing activities in the ES&P program, grow the reach of the social media channels, build excitement for environmental science and policy through unique content creation, and help boost recruitment and attendance for program events.
Service Learning Objectives: • Apply theoretical concepts learned in class to real-world experience working with a professional sustainability, social justice and/or environmental justice organization. • Communicate research findings and professional development experiences to diverse public audiences • Explain and discuss diverse types of environmental and social justice careers • Reflect on your own values, skills, and aspirations as engaged citizens and how to apply your professional skills for the betterment of the environment and societ
The ES&P Social Media team activities will include:
- Creating and posting content to our ES&P Program IG account
- Creating a Tik Tok account for the ES&P Program and populating Tik Tok with content on a weekly basis
- Designing unique content for IG and Tik Tok
- Posting photos and videos from ongoing service learning activities, field trips, and events hosted by the ES&P program and its courses
- Reposting content from the ES&P Student Club, campus affiliates and community partners that would be of interest to ES&P students (e.g. upcoming events, opportunities, and important messages)
- Boosting viewership of the ES&P social media accounts (currently just IG, but hopefully Tik Tok too)
