Opportunity Summary 

Students will have the opportunity to provide Marine Mammal Care Center visitors with an educational experience touring our facility. Training will be provided both virtually and in person. They will talk about the patients in our care (seals and sea lions) and will answer questions for our visitors.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will be able to confidently talk about the rescue, rehabilitation, and research of the Marine Mammal Care Center. They will inspire ocean conservation with our visitors.

The students will work with families, school field trips, and large groups of various ages who may visit MMCC.

This is a customer service, education, and public speaking opportunity for 30 hours during the placement.

Opportunity Training 

Students will watch recorded training videos, shadow peers, and be given a check off quiz.
