Maternal Mental Health Peer Support InternAt — Parenting Connection of Monterey County

Opportunity Summary 

We are looking for a bilingual and bi-literate candidate who is comfortable facilitating groups and creating and giving presentations in both languages, with personal experience in maternal mental health and postpartum anxiety and depression. This position will do outreach and support programs (in-person and virtually), assisting mothers, parents, and caregivers during pregnancy and the first three years after birth.

Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) - The intern will be introduced to the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) Rapid Assessment as a screening tool to identify patients at risk for perinatal depression. Intern will use the Triage tool as a guide on what next steps to take and where to refer for mental health serviced for Central California Alliance for Health (CCAH) Medi-Cal Members

Online training to earn a Postpartum Support International Certification

Training to become a Mothers and Babies Facilitator
