Operations SupportAt — Gathering For Women
In this role, you will provide support in all areas of Gathering for Women, especially our volunteers. You will be tasked with the following:
- communicating with our volunteers,
- overseeing the schedules,
- working with our volunteer database and
- helping strengthen our volunteer core.
You also will likely wear many hats. One day you may help serve a meal or drinks, you might help a guest pick out a perfect outfit, or be a welcoming presence at our front desk. No day is ever the same!
Bilingual Spanish-English speaker desired.
We are expecting 10 hours of service per week.

Requirements:
- Background check (livescan, fingerprinting)
- Vaccinations
- Computer Literacy
You will learn professional ethics and boundaries, conflict resolution, nonprofit management, and communication skills.
You will be trained in all supportive roles, as well as how to use our databases by a staff member or longtime volunteer. You will learn professional ethics and boundaries, conflict resolution, nonprofit management, and communication skills.
Students will receive weekly meetings with their supervisor, more if needed.
POPULATION SERVED: Students may be working unsupervised with vulnerable populations. Students may be working with individuals who pose an elevated risk of harm or injury to them.
We work with homeless and housing-insecure women on the Peninsula, some of whom have mental illness and/or addiction issues. We have staff on-site trained to de-escalate situations before they become a danger. We require COVID-19 vaccinations for our staff and volunteers because not all of our guests are vaccinated. Masks are required while on the premises regardless of vaccination status.
