Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter (SCCAS) VolunteerAt — Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter
Starting out at Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter, students will do laundry and dishes and other support activities. Once orientation and classes are complete, students can work with the animals.
1-5 service learner spots
Students will be shown how to wash dishes and do laundry. Volunteer orientation then species specific training will be provided before allowing students to work directly with animals.
The Volunteer Coordinator advises volunteers and responds to questions in person and via email.
There are animals here- they can bite or scratch. For dishes and laundry we have volunteers wear gloves.
NOTE: This opportunity requires more time than 25-30 hours for a service learning course. Students must be willing to begin early or continue after their service learning course.
