Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are everyday people, trained by CASA and then appointed by judges to advocate for the safety of children and youth who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect.
You must be 21 and over to be able to volunteer and also complete a 35 hour volunteer training typically scheduled in the evening (5-8pm).
We also have volunteering opportunities within our outreach department, this includes attending tabling events and creating content for social media. We are also in need of volunteers to help at our CASA events such as our children's parties in the fall, annual fundraiser event in September, and our Holiday distribution in the winter.
General administrative support is also needed at our CASA house in Watsonville during office hours (M-F, 9-5pm). This can include welcoming visitors, children, community members. Also assisting staff with any special projects they may have.

To become and advocate to a child/youth, one must complete an orientation, interview and our 35 hour advocate training.
Must complete and pass a full background check to participate as an advocate.
