Opportunity Summary 

FOOD & FAMILY SERVICE ADVOCATE We strive to support the overall wellbeing of our clients and community. The Food and Family Service Advocates will support with a variety of programs at DRSC which aim to provide essential supports to local families. This includes weekly food distributions, our Summer Lunch program for youth, and outreach and education efforts which focus on COVID-19 safety, financial education, and emergency preparedness. You will work with DRSC’s staff to support the operation of these essential services including set up and break down for community events and distributions, and various forms of outreach through call, text, flyers and other platforms as identified. Bilingual in Spanish required.

IMMIGRATION LAW ADVOCATE (1 POSITION AVAILABLE) Working with the program director, the Immigration Law Advocate will help to support our program’s Immigration Legal Services department which provides low-cost legal assistance for eligible low-income individuals and families. You will support this program with screening clients, filling out immigration forms, and advocating for immigrants in our community who need legal information and referrals. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAMS

DRSC’s annual Summer Recreation program provides six weeks of onsite enrichment activities for low-income youth in the north coast. As the Summer Youth Programs Intern, you will work with DRSC staff to plan and execute recreational activities for a group of 20-30 youth with a focus on providing a fun and safe environment and promoting positive values. Past experience working with youth in a summer camp or other recreational setting is a plus but is not required. The Summer Youth Programs Intern must possess a valid driver’s license, have a safe driving record, and have their own insured vehicle. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
