SP25 CST 462S: Data HarvestingAt — Gathering For Women

Service Learners will provide service to Gathering for Women through the means of data harvesting by completing the following responsibilities:  

Responsibilities:

• Looking for students who are familiar with or want to learn Microsoft Query and Microsoft Power Query in order to pull data out of our Case Management software. This data will be used for end of year grant reporting primarily.
• would also request the data be formatted into staging tables for a migration to a new case management software in January.
• would also love the data and statistics be visualized for fundraising and community education efforts, but this is not a priority. This position is on-site, as the Open Database Connection is only to one computer for security compliance.

Site Requirements:

• The majority of the work deals with the Open Database Connection, and needs to be completed on-site. The on-site ODBC work must be completed between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday - Friday.
• The initial training and any data visualization the student may do can be completed remotely.
• Masks are required during public open hours from 8am - 2pm. If the student is here after 2 PM, masks are not required. On-Site supervisor is present from 8 am to 5 pm M-F and students are welcome at any time in that timeframe.
• GFW will reimburse any expenses incurred from the background check/livescan of student workers.
• Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting, live scans, driving record)
• Orientation/Training
