Opportunity Summary
Work with students at Raíces y Cariño to create art projects individually and in a group setting. Service will be under the supervision of a professional Watsonville artist with over 7 years of experience teaching art classes.
Focus age ranges:
- Intermediate youth group 14-17 years;
- Beginner youth group 11-14;
- Kids art group 5-11; and
- Neurodiverse art group (ages to be determined)
3 service learner spots
- Health Check/Screening (e.g. temperature screening, COVID-19 test)
- Pre-Placement Training
- Bilingual Desired
- Possibly: fingerprints (aka background check) on file with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District
Opportunity Training
Weekly training sessions going over weekly activities and reflecting on passed week's activities. In class observation of leads art teacher.
Additional risk specific to this opportunity
Students may be required to work at night (after 6pm). Or, students may be supervised less than 50% of the time or the supervisor will be overseeing more than 8 people. Some classes may run passed 6pm.
