Opportunity Summary 

The Community Engagement and Outreach Intern will gain skills in leadership, administration, management, and marketing with Blue Zones Project Monterey County. This includes community outreach and marketing at various events in the Monterey County community. They will assist in data collection and analysis of community participation and evaluations of events & experiences from volunteers. They will assist staff leads in engaging organizations to meet pledge requirements to become a Blue Zones Project approved organization. There is an opportunity for curating volunteer experiences for community members and spearhead social media strategies to promote events.

Opportunity Training 

Each intern participates in a virtual onboarding orientation that takes approximately an hour, followed by completion of e-learning modules. Team meetings typically occur on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, between 9 am - 11 am, depending on which project the intern will be supporting.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Student must be able to provide their own transportation to the office and/or events that they are supporting.
