CAB'S Special Projects Intern: Special Projects is a program of the Community Action Board of Santa Cruz County, Inc. (CAB) focused on providing education and outreach to low-income individuals and families on various topics such as COVID-19, vaccines, workplace health and safety laws, economic relief for immigrants, Medi-Cal and public benefits and other topics.
To support with data entry, outreach with the team and social media content, etc.
We're looking for bilingual interns to support our following programs, Proyecto Salud, Storm Assistance for Immigrants (SAI), and/or Medi-Cal Outreach Program. This internship entails working with CAB staff to engage immigrants, families of mixed immigration status, farm workers, low-wage workers, persons with limited English proficiency and other populations to become knowledgeable about the various programs and provide direct 1:1 assistance. We seek someone with a passion for community outreach, an interest in public health or social services, and strong organizational and communication skills. This internship offers hands-on experience and an opportunity to contribute to an essential community initiative. Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) Required. Reports to Program Coordinators. Intern will support in the following: · Data Entry · Education & Outreach Efforts · Marketing & Communications (social media, flyers, etc.) · Screening participants via the multilingual information line · Possible enrollment for economic relief and public services
