Homework Club Tutor (Volunteer needed: 8) Working with DRSC’s program coordinator, tutor will provide educational support to local kids on a variety of subjects. Sessions run from Tuesday – Thursday at Pacific Elementary in Davenport, CA. from 2-5 pm. You can volunteer for at least 1 hour per week but we request a 3-month commitment. North Coast Teen Center Volunteer (Volunteers needed 1-2) Working with the North Coast Teen Center’s program coordinator, support the after school program in planning positive activities, fieldtrips, parent involvement, and engagement. Sessions run from Tuesday-Friday, 4-6 pm. We are also working to develop a healthy eating plan for the Teen Center. This planning would happen outside of regular teen center hours and can have flexible scheduling. Food Distribution Assistant (Volunteers needed: 2) We distribute food at our center the first 3 Tuesdays of the month. You would interact with the Davenport community and help them sign in as they receive their food. Distributions are from 2-4 pm. The second and third Tuesdays, we deliver food to the local ranches on one of our vans. If you choose to help on this part of the program, you would visit the local ranches with the program coordinator to distribute food. This is generally done between 5 and 8 pm. Outreach and Media Assistant (Volunteers needed: 1-2) Working with the program director, this position is responsible for creating flyers, preparing online posts for website and social media; creating promotional videos; posters; and program newsletters. Schedule is flexible. Immigration Law Advocate (Volunteers needed 1-2) Working with the program director and a local immigration lawyer, you will support this program screening clients, filling out immigration forms, advocating for immigrants in our community who need legal information and referrals.
