Opportunity Summary 

This opportunity is reserved for Juan Duarte.

In collaboration with the supervisor and other members of the team, the Website Creator updates Eat for the Earth's website to make it more accessible, user-friendly, attractive, and engaging. Through improvements to the website, the student will support the organization's main objective of making it easier for people to eat more plants and less animal products to sustain all life on Earth.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 
  1. Self and Social Awareness: Examine the diverse dimensions of social, cultural and professional identities, and the relationship of these identities to systems of power, privilege and oppression.
  2. Service and Social Responsibility Part 1: Analyze how the field/profession has perpetuated inequity/injustice and/or contributed to equity/justice at the individual, group and societal levels.
  3. Service and Social Responsibility Part 2: Engage in responsive, reciprocal service that is informed by knowledge of the multicultural histories, demographics, sociocultural dynamics and assets of a specific community.
  4. Action towards Systemic Change: Develop and implement personal and professional strategies, policies and/or practices that work towards creating greater equity and social justice in our communities, workplaces and/or institutions.
Opportunity Training 

Eat for the Earth will orient the student to our mission, purpose, programs, activities, and vision to insure the student can confidently contribute to the website update. We will also insure the student is oriented to the website builder platform being used for the new website.

We will schedule a video or phone meeting upon contact in order to explore how to best utilize the student to support Eat for the Earth's mission and work while simultaneously insuring the student's service learning goals can be met.
