3 service learners
- Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
- Health Check/Screening (e.g. temperature screening, COVID-19 test)
- Must be 18 or older
Most of the training will be strictly monitored and provided by the Volunteer and Community Engagement Manager. Students will get to watch training videos of rescue and response and basic animal husbandry and will shadow response teams in the day to day activities under supervision.
Regular check-ins will be provided each time the student is on site or out in the field. There will be constant brief and de-brief sessions and safety protocol reviews before and after a response and possibly mentorship into pursuing long term volunteer opportunities with the organization.
Photography or social media use of animals is strictly prohibited and is grounds for immediate removal from the program.
This placement requires working with hazardous materials, heavy equipment, construction equipment, heights, or heavy machinery. Heavy equipment will/can be used in the field. Some cleaning and hazardous materials may be present on site, minimal risk or injury occurrences.
Parking and work areas may not be secure or adequately illuminated. Current location is in Moss Landing and details can be given during the interview process.
