Opportunity Summary 

The front desk receptionist volunteer is responsible for:

  • Answering a multi-phone line system of all incoming calls and directing the caller to the right program or staff member.
  • Responding to any general questions about the Volunteer Center or current events that we are promoting.
  • Assisting walk-in clients and directing them to the right program or staff member.
  • Keeping track of who is currently in the office by making sure everyone is signing in at the sign in table.
  • Assisting staff members with projects such as filing and data entry for various programs
  • Assisting with assembling printed documents for large campaign mailings and other marketing materials.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will gain valuable communication skills and learn how to navigate through an office environment. You will also learn organizational skills, administration skills and how to be a team player.

Opportunity Training 

An orientation upon sign up will be scheduled, following 5 consecutive training days to get you ready for the front desk.

Supervision: Irasema Hernandez will always be supervising all students. Their desk is located at the front desk to be able to oversee all tasks. Students will also have their direct number and email address.
