Asilomar State Park Interpretive InternAt — Asilomar State Beach & Conference Grounds
Join staff at Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds to create meaningful experiences for visitors to our park. The State Park Interpretive Intern will assist the State Park Interpreter with program development and delivery, including but not limited to:
- school field trips
- tours of natural and cultural resources of the park (the Restored Dune Habitat Preserve, the Coastal Trail, Tide Pools, and the Historic Conference Grounds)
- campfire programs
- special holiday events
- lecture series
- other duties as required
In addition, the State Park Interpretive Intern will assist with program promotion, including placing marketing materials in local venues, creating social media posts, and placing program information in online event calendars.
2 service learners
- Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
- Computer Literacy
- Must be 18 or older
Training commensurate with previous experience will be provided. The State Parks Interpreter will oversee all projects to offer guidance and coaching.
Students may be required to work at night (after 6pm). Or, students may be supervised less than 50% of the time or the supervisor will be overseeing more than 8 people. We have occasional evening programs during which the service learner may be asked to work. Typically these events are over by 10 PM or earlier.
