Film Production & Park InterpretationAt — Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District (MPRPD)
Create and edit 1-2 videos that will serve as an orientation for student groups visiting Garland Ranch Regional Park. Content will include: What can visitors expect when visiting the park, land acknowledgement, park hazards, and leave no trace principles.
Phase 1: Determine content & draft/refine script, identify filming location and personnel.
Phase 2: Film, refine script, & edit final video
- Filming will occur on-site at Garland Ranch Regional Park. Drafting of script and video editing can be done remotely.
- Bring your creativity, video production skills, and interpretation skills to this project and work with our environmental education team throughout the process.
- Ongoing project, this can rollover to a 2nd semester if project goes beyond 25 hours.
Experience/Requirements:
- Video editing experience
- Access to filming device and computer with video editing capabilities

Students will receive an orientation to the park district and a brief walking tour of Garland Ranch Regional Park as well as education on park safety, leave no trace principles, and general park information. This is primarily the service learner’s own schedule AND meeting with Staff generally once a week or every two weeks (Wednesday-Sunday).
