Wellness Through NatureAt — Ventana Wildlife Society (VWS)

Opportunity Summary

Our youth and family programs focus increasing access and connection to nature by removing common barriers such as cost, transportation and language. In addition to learning about the natural world, outdoor experiences also increase wellness, and provide an opportunity to learn about healthy living. More and more research shows a variety of wellness benefits - both physical and mental - associated with being outside.

We are looking for kinesiology students, or those in a related field, to introduce activities into our programs for youth and adults. Possibilities include stretch sessions after a first-time kayaking trip, or after camping out in Big Sur; "move like an animals" activities for kids, or yoga in nature. This is an ongoing opportunity.
