Opportunity Summary

The Digital Production Initiative, a creative program focused on empowering artists and community members through the use of digital tools such as Procreate, Sketchup, Canva and other graphic design software. Utilizing iPads, Hijso del Sol’s participating youth will learn essential skills in digital illustration and graphic design, enhancing their artistic capabilities. This is a new initiative for Hijos del Sol.

Our initiative aims to provide regular hands-on workshops where attendees can explore various techniques, from digital painting to layout design. Experienced students or mentors are needed to guide participants in mastering one of the following: Procreate, Sketchup, Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop, enabling them to create stunning visual art and graphics. Additional risk specific to this opportunity

Hijos Del Sol (HDS) currently serves a higher number of minors than adults. Although HDS has on-site instructors, it is important to state that some minors are not supervised by a parent/guardian other than HDS instructors.

HSD has an experimental art studio which means there are plenty of materials/equipment. It is advised that heavier equipment be handled by professionals, although at times it may be needed to be handled by the volunteers.

HSD's hours of operation are from 4:30 - 8pm.  In the winter time, this means working at night and extra precautions while leaving the worksite at night are encouraged.
