Monterey Audubon Education - Monterey Audubon Society (MAS)At — Monterey Audubon Society (MAS)

Opportunity Summary

The Monterey Audubon Society proposes a collaborative program with CHISPA to provide bi-weekly nature-focused activities for youth in 4th-8th grade residing at the Alfred Diaz-Infante (ADI) apartments in East Garrison. This program aims to:

  • Foster a connection to nature
  • Promote environmental awareness
  • Encourage outdoor exploration
  • Provide opportunities for high school students to participate as mentors, providing leadership experience and deepening their own connection to nature.
  • Increase access to birding and outdoors in Fort Ord

By engaging participants in both indoor and outdoor activities, we will create a dynamic and enriching after-school experience that aligns with the mission of both organizations.

We are looking for someone passionate about environmental education. We have a mixture of volunteers, staff, board members, and interns supporting this budding program.
