SP25 CST 462S: Tech SupportAt — Monterey County Free Libraries - Marina Branch
Service Learners will be providing service to the Monterey County Free Libraries - Marina Branch through the means of tech support by completing the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized tech support for library patrons at the Marina Branch. You'll assist with basic computer skills, including email management, Microsoft Office programs, and Google applications like Docs and Sheets. Additionally, you'll offer support for various devices such as iPads, Chromebooks, and smartphones. This role will help you develop expertise in user training, technical troubleshooting, and cross-platform support.
Desired Skills:
- Bilingual if possible, not required
Site Requirements:
- Service Hours will take place only during operating hours, Fridays-Saturdays: 10 AM–5 PM
- Minimum of 2-hour shifts on Fridays/Saturdays.

Technical Skills & Troubleshooting
Develop the ability to assist patrons with basic tech support, including troubleshooting devices and software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Docs). -
Effective Communication & User Training
Strengthen communication skills by explaining tech concepts in simple terms and providing user training to individuals with varying levels of tech experience. -
Professional Development & Community Engagement
Build time management, professionalism, and cultural competence while contributing to digital literacy and inclusion in the local community.
Orientation/Training will be required to attend
Students will be assigned to this site through their CST 462S Stateside Service Learning faculty member.
